Legacy Giving and FreeWill

Legacy Giving and FreeWill

Thank you for considering United Way among the areas of impact you would like to leave through legacy giving. When you include UWWC in your estate plan, your generosity makes it possible for us to continue fighting for stable households and thriving children for future generations.  If you don't have an estate plan, we can help with a free resource called FreeWill.

If you have already included us in your estate plans, or would like to, please tell us so that we may acknowledge and thank you. Simply complete our Planned Gift Intention Form.

Legacy Giving and Including United Way in your Estate Plans

In as little as one sentence you can complete your gift. This type of donation to United Way in your will or living trust helps ensure that we continue our mission for years to come.

For example: "It is my (our) pleasure to make this gift to United Way of Washtenaw County EIN: 38-1951024  in the form of  [cash, life insurance, IRA or retirement plan assets, investments or other gift].  I (we) would like this gift to be allocated to (endowment or unrestricted)."

FreeWill

United Way of Washtenaw County has partnered with FreeWill to give all of our supporters a resource to write their legally valid wills online for free. In less than 20 minutes, you will have a will that is valid in all 50 states. If you have a more complicated estate, FreeWill can be used to create a set of documented wishes to bring to a lawyer’s office and save time and money. The tool is free to you whether or not you choose to include a gift to us.  Visit FreeWill today to get started.
