It is with deep sadness that we share with you the loss of our United Way Board member, William J. Fileti. Bill passed on Saturday, April 22, from brain cancer, which was diagnosed in October of 2016.
He served on the Board of Directors for United Way of Washtenaw County since 2012 with roles on the Finance and Strategic Planning Committees. Bill was the founding President and CEO of IHA since 1994 when the leaders of Associates in Gynecology and Obstetrics, Associates in Internal Medicine, and Child Health Associates chose to form a group, founded on the principles of high quality, personalized, patient-centered care.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to United Way of Washtenaw County’s launch of the Futures Fund. This gift will chart a new vision for United Way, grounded in an extraordinary commitment to collaboration, a focus on service, and an emphasis on accelerating the progress towards combatting poverty in our community.
Consistent with Bill’s values, United Way of Washtenaw County connects people, resources and organizations together to create a thriving community for everyone. Importantly, gifts would be put to use immediately over the next three years and for on-going strategic planning goals.
