Women United

Women have long been a driving force as we well know. But you may not know, the impact that driving force has made for United Way; women have invested time, talent and treasure into community solutions that make life better for millions. Women United is a diverse, global force of nearly 70,000 women leaders in 160 communities raising and investing more than $1 billion since 2002.

Previously known as Women's Leadership Council, and probably best known for our Annual Power of the Purse event, the committee has raised nearly $330,000 locally, in Washtenaw County, to support women's financial stability programs. We know from surveys, focus groups and steering committees that you want more! We are listening and we agree there is more potential in Washtenaw County. By leveraging the power of women in Washtenaw County we can do more and help more!

  • You'll be a part of a community of like-minded women who contribute their personal passions, best ideas, and unique strengths to the mission of building stronger communities.
  • Volunteer within our community alongside others looking to create change
  • Network and collaborate with key business and community leaders at exclusive events.
  • Learn more about critical issues impacting our community.
  • Advocate for key community issues at the local and state level

We hoped you enjoyed our latest event with Julie Lawson Timmer!
