Days of Caring
The 2012 Days of Caring is an effort to inform, educate, and engage our community in activities, drives and collections that make an impact. Different programs throughout the month of May and June will range from participating in Community Baby Shower, Battle for Change, Touch-a-Truck , NALC Food Drive,Ypsi Pride or Community Service Varsity Letter.
May 1 - May 25th Community Baby Shower
You can help babies get a healthy start in life! United Way of Washtenaw County, in collaboration with community agencies and businesses, is hosting our second Community Baby Shower throughout the month of May. Our goal is to help local Families in Washtenaw County provide their children with a good start. Drop off baby items to the United Way office on 2305 Platt Rd. Ann Arbor, or at any Reinhart Realtors office location.

May 1 - May 25th Battle 4 Change
Battle for Change is a competition among organizations in Washtenaw County to see who can raise the most money by collecting spare change. The winning company will be awarded the traveling Battle 4 Change trophy! The challenge starts May 2 and runs through May 31. To participate, email liveunited@uwwashtenaw.org to register
May 12th– NALC Stamp Out Hunger
For two decades, the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) food drive has held the largest single-day collection of non-perishable items in the nation. Letter carriers collect non-perishable food donations left by mailboxes and in post offices and will deliver them to local food pantries. Click here for more information and view their poster!
May 12 Touch-a-Truck
Join us for the 3rd Annual Touch a Truck event on May 12th from 9am to 12noon in the parking lot at Briarwood Mall. Kids can get up close with some of their favorite trucks and vehicles including fire engines, school buses, and much, much more! Free fun for the whole family! May 19 Ypsi-Pride
Ypsi PRIDE is a community clean-up event where hundreds of volunteers pick up litter, plant flowers etc. at over 40 sites all around Ypsi. The 18th annual Ypsi PRIDE Day is Saturday, May 19th this year, from 9 am - 12 noon. There will be a thank-you picnic for volunteers afterward in North Bay park from noon - 2 PM. Community Service Varsity Letter
United Way of Washtenaw County honors high school students annually with a varsity letter for their community service. Participants and their families are invited to a dessert reception on June 7, 2012 from 5:30pm to 7:00pm at United Way of Washtenaw County.
