Young Leaders Society

YLS is a unique and dynamic group that inspires philanthropy and volunteerism in the rising leaders of Washtenaw County. In addition, by affiliating with the Young Leaders Society, members are provided with valuable networking and leadership-related events.

Steering Committee
The YLS Steering Committee plays a major role in planning and executing the details of the events for the year. The committee meets periodically to brainstorm on what other members will find worthwhile and beneficial. We are currently recruiting members for our Steering Committee.

Leadership Engagement
The Young Leaders Society finds opportunities to further develop one’s own leadership ability and increase the capacity for our community to rally together and find solutions to common problems. YLS also embarks on unique ventures and develops partnerships with numerous non-profit organizations, schools and youth associations that advance the common good.

Campus Community Leaders

Campus Community Leaders, the student component of the Young Leaders Society is a unique and dynamic group that inspires philanthropy and volunteerism in the rising leaders of Washtenaw County. In addition, by affiliating with the professional Young Leaders Society, members are provided with valuable networking and leadership-related events

Through events like Lunch ‘N’ Learn, you can learn about topics of interest to you. Potential topics have included business etiquette, financial planning, advancing your career and serving on a board of directors.

One of the main pillars of the Young Leaders’ mission is to offer networking opportunities. Not only is YLS a great way to network with other emerging leaders in Washtenaw County, but events like Cocktails and Conversations and CEO² connect you directly with today’s leaders.

YLS’ third and final pillar is to raise funds to help United Way have an impact. We hope to raise funds by hosting several events each year.

Annual Membership

  • Bronze: $50 + 25 hrs of service
  • Silver: $175 + 25 hrs of service
  • Gold: $250 + 25 hrs of service
  • Platinum: $500 + 25 hrs of service
